Still here!

But my computer isn't. We are getting new windows in our house and had to clear out all the furniture that was by the old windows. Unfortunately that was where my 'puter lurked so it's now in pieces all over the dining table. So I won't be able to upload any new projects until the weekend. But the new windows are looking great!

Hello Elmo!

It's the last Friday of the month which means upload day for the CreativExpress Design team. This month I had the Sesame Street font cartridge to work with on my Cricut. In all honesty, I was less than enthusiastic at first (given that my baby is 17 years old!!!)But wow did I grow to like this cartridge- it has totally distinct different fonts on it- Sunny Day and Black Board.
Here's a link to my CX blog where you can see the other projects that I completed with it.

Rebecca Rabbit

Here she is in all her sweetness- my first Digital Stamp Oasis critter!
She's colored in w/ BIC MarkIt pens (sky done with a light blue Tombow marker) and some Stickles on her cart of eggs.I cut out and popped up the cart wheel- very nice and easy to do when working with a digital stamp and you have a whole page of them all printed out at once!I added a brad to the wagon wheel center to give it even more visual interest.
I used my poker to embellish around the edges of the Nestabilities Die Cut edge.Added some Prisma glitter to the frame. Then mounted it all onto some old Creative Imaginations Christine Adolph patterned paper. American Crafts polka dot satin ribbon, Prima flowers with a "dew drop" center, and finished off with 2 EK Success corner punches.

Hello Kitty Fairy

All right- as if Hello Kitty on her own isn't cute enough ,the good people at Cricut go and make her into a fairy on the Hello Kitty Font cartridge.
I could not resist such cuteness!

Please help stop the Canadian Seal hunt

I was very distressed at the latest email in my in-box from the Humane Society regarding the Seal Hunt anticipated to be starting as soon as Monday in Canada. These babies are not killed for food- they are killed to make fur coats.
Please scroll down to the bottom of my blog for a link to the Humane Society and more information on what you can do to let your voice be heard if you are also in opposition of this massacre.Or you can click this link here.

Happy Spring

Here's a little card that I did in celebration of the change of seasons.
The Stamps are from SU! colored in with PrismaColor Pencils and blended out with Gamsol.
I hope that you all enjoy a sunny day filled with blooming flowers!

Critter Card

I think that I am FINALLY caught up on all my assignments and had a chance today to just do a card for fun. I have been wanting to do a lot of challenges lately but just haven't been able to shoe horn them into my schedule. This is almost the last day for Caardvarks Critter card challenge and I HAD to play. I just got this adorable woodland critter stamp set (SU!) last week and ditto the cute DCWV Recycled paper pack- they were a perfect match.I inked the lil Bambi in brown ink and used a black Tombow to add black to her hooves and eye.Simple yet sweet. The hello hello is a TAC stamp.

Happy St. Pats

I really got my moneys worth out of this SU! stamp set.
I stamped all over everything with all the stamps in the set.

Paper posey basket

Here is a little paper posey basket that I made featuring floral die cuts from Creative Cuts and More.

I ran the die cuts (sandwiched in a CuttleBug embossing folder) through my Big Shot. Then inked the edges with some chalks ink pads.

The little paper basket I made with directions off of Scor-pal.com.

The handle I cut out of a scrap of Bazzil Bling paper- edged both sides of it with scallop scissors, and punched holes through the middle with just a standard hole punch. I attached all the bits with some pretty rhinestone brads from DejaViews.

Patterned Cardstock from K and Company.
Ribbon- Michaels

little helper

Does anyone else have a little helper like this in their craft room?
Otto loves to climb into my lap when he sees me settle down at my stamping desk. If I don't pay him enough attention he tends to just ooze up onto my work surface and position himself not too discretely directly in front of my face as if to say stop playing with those silly stamps and papers and pet me!!!

Easter fun and games

"Easter-it's all fun and games until somebunny loses an ear!"

I admit it I have a fondness for Chocolate bunny ears. I know it's all the same chocolate through out the entire bunny but for some reason the ears just taste the most delectable to me!

Bunny fold out card

Just trotting out an old favorite here- this time substituting in a cute little bunny die cut from Creative Cuts and More on the front. I drew on his little face and gave him a pretty little Prima to hold.

Easter Card

Here is another card that I did for Creative Cuts and More.
I used their exclusive window card.
I made the "stained glass" with Ranger Alcohol Inks on acetate.
I then adhered it inside the window. You could leave it that way to see through into the card but I added a piece of white card stock over the acetate because I thought that it made the colors show up more vibrantly.
I went around the edges of the card with my Scor-pal just to give it some added detail and definition.

Happy Hat Day

Okay-it's not really Happy Hat Day-I made that up-but maybe it should be!
I used this fabulous little hat card from Creative Cuts And More as the focal point of this card.
The hat makes a perfect little stand alone card but I decided that I wanted to do something just a little bit more with it-so I mounted it on a 5 x 7 inch size jumbo postcard made with Bazzil and Basic Grey Urban Prairie papers.
What's so fun about the hat is letting your inner-milliner free to decorate it.It can be a stately ready for Ascot chapeau to a wild and wonderful pile the fruit on Carmen Miranda topper.
I decorated mine with a pretty posey (also from Creative Cuts and More).
I had a nice surprise that after I ran the flower through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug embossing folder -it gave a nice curl to the leaves. The edges are all rubbed with Tsukineko's Versa Magic inks for added shadowing and dimension.

Caardvarks Card Challenge

This weeks challenge was to use kraft card stock(Something that I really REALLY like!)
I made this card yesterday to break in my friend Nancy's Changito set.
I think that you can guess what it says on the inside ( a great big "hi" cut out with Cricut Wild Card)
I hadn't dragged out my fiber box in years but I wanted a rough hairy monkey vine look -I think that these fit the bill perfectly.

I made this card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This weeks theme was something to eat and the closest that I could come with my stash of PB images was this walnut!
I got to break in 2 new purchases on this card- a DCWV Nana's Kitchen Stack and a new corner punch.
