Image Swapping

I have gotten involved with a fabulous bunch of stampers over on SCS doing a thingie called a Pay It Forwards swap where one person posts a list of their stamps that they are willing to stamp up images of for people. You swoop in -chose your stamp and post "snag" and then post your list of stamps for snagging. It's very fun- kind of like tag.
So in the past week I have gotten 5 envelopes of new stamped images to play with -I am very happy. If you want to play go to SCS,look under "swaps", "everything else" and then "PIF-round 34". The most labor intensive part is writing up your list of stamps to swap and finding links with pix of them all.It does make DH happy as I don't NEED to buy as many stamps! (I am looking forwards to a delivery of some new stampies from Peachy Keen though-they were so cute I was absolutely powerless to resist them.)

This froggie is from Penny Black and was one of my PIF snags.I am very smitten with him indeed.

Colored "skittles" recipe

These little clear plastic blobs (affectionately nicknamed "Skittles" due to their resemblance to the candy) have become all the rage on the Cricut message board. The reason for the rage is that you can buy a big bag of them dirt cheap on clearance at Michaels -they were originally purposed as a floral vase filler. They look very similar to other products on the market for paper crafters likeDew Drops and Mermaids Tears that cost a LOT more!
I had a big bag of them but wanted different colors and stumbled upon this solution.

Recipe-
Scoop approx. 2 tblspn.s of clear "Skittles" into a small zip lock baggie
Add 3 drops of alcohol ink.
seal baggie and quickly agitate to disperse the ink over all the "skittles"
open the bag and let sit out for about 10 minutes for the ink to dry

eh voila- colored "skittles"
The plastic box on the top can be found in the beading section at Mike's for about $1.99 and will become "home" to my "Skittles" once they dry.

The Hedgie card from yesterday features some of the clear ones if you want an idea of how to use these. They attach very nicely with the small sized glue dots.

Just stampin' along here....

Wow-I got 4 cards done yesterday and 2 more today! The mojo is a'flowwin'!
Here's another card that I did for the WishRAK challenges over on SCS.
How can anyone resist the Penny Black hedgies, I ask you?
The paper was old old stuff that I had gotten from QVC years ago- Colorbok,I think.
I used my trusty nestabilities die to cut the scallop rectangle and added a little DoodleBug paper frill to the card median.
I plopped a couple of the plastic "skittles" down in the lower right hand corner-I thought that they kind of looked like rain drops.
The image is colored with prisma Color pencils, blended with Gamsol (Magic Pencil technique)

Todays other card

This one was for a challenge to lift an idea from a featured stamper. Here is a link to the card that I lifted by Qvande .
I used a Bella image that I received from WishRAK. The PP is Kelly Panacci for SandyLion, a prima, rhinestone and some ribbon. I also broke in one of my new cuttlebug embossing folders.

A couple cards

I am having too much fun over on SplitCoastStampers.com today.

I have "discovered" a new fun swap called "Pay it forward" where people post lists of their images that they have available for snagging- you move in snag an image from the last list posted then post your own list for people to snag from .It is sort of like tag using rubber stamped images. It's highly addictive and my 'puter has been logged into that thread since I got up this AM!

On the WishRAK forum they are also doing a fun activity with challenges to make cards with the images that you have received from swapping within WishRAK. I have done a couple so far today.

Here's my first card-from a challenge to create a childs b-day card. The stamped fellow is SU!,sentiment -TAC, ribbon-Maya Road, nestabilities white frame, punches-EK and SU!, flowers- Prima,PP-My Minds eye, and clear plastic "skittles" from Mike's.

Dog Walker

I bought this DeNami Design stamp last January at the Riverside Stamp Show and am ashamed to say that I had not used it yet.
It's colored in with PrismaColor Pencils and blended with Gamsol.
Patterned Paper is Making Memories. I made the little flowers with the BoHo Flowers punch from SU!

Frogolicious

Isn't this guy a cutie?
He's from WhipperSnapper Designs.
I have been having the best time playing with these stamped images from SCS WishRak. I have to say there was quite a learning curve getting into the swing with that group- they are very very particular but in the end it pays off well. I am amazed by how the mod.s are able to track so many wishes and keep things running so smoothly. It really looks like a daunting task to me!
A big thanks to my friend Nancy for procuring the elusive CuttleBug Swiss Dot embossing folder for me. The border punch is from Martha Stewart (yes-it is indeed a "good thing") and the satin ribbon is recycled off some Amazon gift boxes from 2 Christmases ago.

Stamping Again

Yay- my stampin' mojo found me again!
I was playing around with these images that I got from SCS WishRAK and was pretty pleased with how they turned out. The stamps are from WhipperSnapper Designs. They are colored in with PrismaColor pencils ad blended with Gamsol.
I wish that I could photograph the cupcake better-it has glitter on the frosting and crystal lacquer on the cherry.
It was funny on the turtle card-I finally broke down and used some Daisy D's patterned paper that I have been hoarding literally for years because it was "too nice to use".

Crop 'til I drop...

I have been in scrap booking over-drive since I got back from Savannah. Here is one of the LO's that I have done featuring our "field trip" to a LSS there. It was the grand opening- what fortuitous timing for us!
I used my Cricut and the Mini Monograms cartridge to create the large scallop circles out of the Heidi Grace patterned paper and all the lettering. I also used a Sizzix die to create the dress shoes, and purse. It was fun getting to do a "girlie" lo for a change.

Another Lift...

off of Cricut.com.
Boy- do I love that web site- there are so many fabulous ideas there!
This was from "SomeThinSassy"-sorry I don't know her real name to give her full credit!
This is a little stand up photo album that I whipped up for my neice. I used a couple coasters that I took home from a restaurant as the base. The letters, scrollie thingies, and crowns are all cut from Alphalicious. The PPs are Heidi Grace and DCWV.And lots of incidental bling, ribbon and eyelets- Thank goodness for the Cropodile!

Bee Happy

Here's a cute little guy I did this afternoon. I got the Stampendous bee stamped image from SCS WishRAK. I was finally able to break in my Marvy Giga scallop circle punch. Colored with Tombows and Stardust gel ink on the wings. Cuttlebug honeycomb texture to the background.

Inspired by the Chirp!

This card was lifted from one of the "Chirp's" featured projects- apologies to the creator for not recalling their name.
I have had Walk In My Garden for over a year and feel like I have in no way come close to fully exploiting all the good stuff on this cart.!
I used some My Mind's Eye wild Asparagus paper ,which is so perfect for card making- print on one side ,solid on the other and card stock weight.
Added some Primas to the barrow and of course a lil' bling makes everything nicer!

Happy Little Chirper

I got the best addition to my stamp cave last week- this little folding table to hold my bugzilla.
Before ,I had the Big E. downstairs on the dining room table because there was no counter space for it in my crammed to the gills cave.I was working on a LO last week- just cutting a title and must have run up and down the stairs 5 times getting the colors and the size right (UGH !) and thought there had to be a better way. My friend Nancy had this table that she no longer wanted .She sold it to me and it's absolutely PERFECT.
I can swivel around in my seat ,cut what I want on the Cricut, and then swivel back over to my work space and crop it...ahhhhhhhh happy happy happy!

Happy Mom's Day

I dug back in my archives for this card-it was the one that I made for my mom last year(It's Cricut'ed and stamped all over). I miss her everyday but day's like today are especially rough. My sweet husband had us celebrate "Megan's Day" yesterday because he knew that I was having a hard time with it.
I hope that all you mom's enjoy a lovely day today!

Holy Cow,People! A PSA

I just read this on Claudine Hellmuth's blog (she got it from Tim Holtz)
Apparently ,there is a legislative possibility that people will be able to harvest pix that you post on-line to use for their own commercial purposes.
It's very scary when you consider how many of us scrappy chix post pix of our families.
Claudine has a link on her blog post that very easily takes you to a pre-formatted page to send a message to your congress people that you are opposed to this.
It even auto-populates who your senators and representatives are ,if you don't know.
Please take a moment to look at Claudine's blog and follow the link to help keep blogging and Internet posting safe and fun for all of us.

Update

I am sorry that I haven't posted much lately. Since I have come home from Savannah I have been more in a scrapbooking mood. My mojo tends to flow in one direction only -either scrapbooking or cards. I honestly don't think my scrapping is all that exciting-I usually use a sketch or lift someone elses design so I don't think that it would be right to post it on my blog as mine KWIM?

Another NSD challenge card

I made this one for a challenge from the super talented Melissa Phillips.
The PP and rub on are from MM, the flower and butterfly stamp are Prima. I dragged my sewwing machine out for some "blank" stitching. The ribbon is Mike's and the buttons are just old ones dug out of my button box.

Happy Scrappy day/weekend!

It's funny how NSD was supposed to be yesterday but QVC started hawking product on Thursday night. I am actually observing this most special of days today at my friend Nancy's Croppo de Mayo crop.

CreativExpress has had a very fun event going on all weekend with lots of super challenges-I have mainly just done the card ones. This card was made based on a sketch by the very talented Melanie Douthit. The PP is Heidi Grace (that I got 25 sheets of for $2 at Big Lots!),stamps are The Angel Company, and flowers are Heidi Swapp and Prima.

I'll be posting more of the cards through out the week and as always thanks for dropping by my blog and taking a look.

Finally a new card!

My goodness, y'all, I have just been so tired and busy catching up from my Savannah trip but unexpectedly had the chance to stay home yesterday and do some of the National Scrapbook Day projects on the CreativExpress website.
This card was for a birthday challenge. I had these great bird stamps from Inkadinkadoo for prolly 2 months now and ink had never touched the rubber yet-how sad is that?!
The papers are A Shade of Blue's Anne Schlegel.
